WHAT WE NEED NOW

WHAT WE CONSIGN

Children’s Clothing and Shoes, from newborn thru size 8/10 and Maternity Wear
Must be gently-used or new and in the current style, clean and not too "worn".

Strollers, Joggers, Pack-n-Plays, High Chairs, Bouncers, Baby Carriers
Must be clean and all buckles and straps in working condition.  If available, the user manual or instructions would be most appreciated to pin on the item for the buyer.  We prefer gear that is no more than a few years old.

Children’s and Maternity/Pregnancy Books and DVDs | Decorative Items |  Wall Hangings | Lamps 
Items must be in very good condition.

HOW IT WORKS
  • All drop-offs are by appointment only.  Clothing consignments are seasonal.
  • Appointments are requested via email to rachel@greenberriescompany.com.  In your email, please include a general summary of what you have to consign such as brands and a size range for both clothing and gear, where applicable.  Also include your preferred appointment date(s)/day(s)/time(s) and TYPE of appointment.
  • After scheduling an appointment, consignors bring items in shopping bags (no trash bags!) with all clothing folded neatly to prevent wrinkles.  Please write your name on the outside of the bag, with a phone number or email address.  Please do NOT bring your items in a BIN, as they take up a lot of space and require you to come back for them! 
  • Please select up to 30 of your favorite items to bring in per appointment. You may schedule an appointment once per month with up to 30 items.  We ask that you review the brands listed below and consignment policies closely, to ensure we are able to accept the majority of your items.  This will save both of us time going through your items. 
  • Based on current store inventory and the historic preferences of our customers, greenberries will select items that we feel will sell quickly.  We will make every attempt to put items on the floor as soon as possible.  This typically depends on available store display room and customer demand, and may take up to 2-3 weeks in our busy seasons.
  • Once items are entered into inventory, you will receive an itemized list with prices and your expiration date.  Please note this date on your calendar.
  • Consignors will receive 50% of the selling price for gear/strollers, and 40% of the selling price for clothing items.Once your item sells, your cut will be held in an account to be paid by check on a quarterly basis (see below).  If you elect store credit for all of your items, you receive 50% of the selling price on all items.  Please select your method of payment when setting up your account (or for current consignors - when you bring in your next batch). 

TYPES OF APPOINTMENTS
  • Drop-n-Run:  Simply drop your items off, anytime during your scheduled day.  We will review your items, select what we believe will sell well in the shop, and return the rest to you.  We require you pick up any unaccepted items within 7 days of receiving an email from us with your itemized inventory. Items not accepted and not picked up will be donated after 7 days.  You may choose to DONATE items that we don’t accept, and we’ll donate to a local organization.  Please indicate “Donate” at drop-off or write it on your label.  When dropping off items, please ensure your bags are clearly labeled with your name/phone/email.
  • Review in Store: For those who will be traveling a distance, we will have traditional appointments in the shop on weekdays and select Saturdays.  While you browse, we will review your items and return any unaccepted items before you leave.
  • Strollers / Gear / Baby Carriers / Decorative Items: In general, we can take these anytime, given there is space in the shop.  Please email to inquire.  We sell and are always looking for strollers, joggers, pack n plays, bouncy seats, co-sleepers, and portable swings.

GENERAL POLICIES
  • The consignment period is for 65 days, starting the day your item is tagged and hung.  After 35 days, the item will be marked down 20%.  The item will be reduced another 20% after 50 days. 
  • As the consignor, you may pick up your item at the end of the consignment period.  Please call ahead and we will try to pull your items.  If time does not allow us prior to your visit, we will assist you in pulling your items when you arrive.  In general, it goes much quicker that way, as you can spot your items much easier.  greenberries is unable to notify or update individual consignors about the status of accounts, but you are free to call or email anytime and we will update you.  
  • Unsold items, left unclaimed at the end of the consignment period, become the property of greenberries to donate, mark down further for clearance, retag in current season, or hold for sale until the next year.
  • greenberries reserves the right to set the selling price of each item. 
  • Your store credit is tracked by our software.  If you’d like to check your balance, please send a request to rachel@greenberriescompany.com or call the store. 
  • If a stain, rip, or missing button is later discovered at the time of tagging or once on the racks, the item will be donated.
  • We do our best to safeguard your items, but items left at the shop are at the owner’s risk.  greenberries is not responsible for damage by handling, loss by fire, or theft.

GETTING PAID
  • Checks will be cut on a quarterly basis, on the 15th of Jan, April, July and October.  Accounts with a balance of $25 or more will be mailed a check, or you may pick up a check in the store at any time (if you elected to be paid by check).  There is a $1 fee per check that is mailed, to be subtracted from the balance at the time of the check run.  Any account with a balance of less than $25 will be held in store credit until/unless the consignor requests a check to be sent or picked up in the store. 
  • Store credit may be used in the store at any time and does not expire.   Available credit in the store is based on the balance in your account 8 days prior, as we must allow for the return policy (7 days).  In other words, if one of your items has been sold within the past 7 days prior to your inquiry, your proceeds from the sale will not yet be posted to your account.

Because these brands are priced so low in retail outlets, they do not have a high enough resale value.   We will accept these brands on a limited basis, space permitting, if it is a unique item and in excellent or new condition.

  • Toys* We are very selective with accepting toys, given the newest safety laws around lead and phthalates.  Typically we limit the number of used toys made of plastic, as it does not fit within our green philosophy.  We also carry a broad selection of new toys. We typically will accept ride-on toys, wooden toys, and specialty items. Please inquire.

A note on the CPSIA and Recalls
greenberries takes every precaution to check for recalls and restrictions on children’s products.  We are acting diligently and in good faith to comply with the new laws and regulations.  Please help us to check www.recalls.gov prior to bringing in your items, if you are unsure.  Should an item you wish to consign not be in compliance, greenberries is unable to accept it for sale in our store.  Additionally, should an item in our store be for sale, and is then recalled, the consignee will be contacted to pick up the recalled item.  After 30 days, the recalled item will be appropriately disposed of if the consignee does not come to claim it.

Consignment Agreement
You will be asked to sign an Agreement when dropping off your items.
